It's been exactly one week since the day Kostas Charalampidis underwent surgery and PAOK's captain maintains an open line of communication with the team from his home, while at the same time decides that he wants to share a few thoughts.

 

Through www.paokbc.gr Kostas Charalampidis is sending his own message to all as well as his gratitude to all those who supported him at this particular moment in his life…

 

The statement of the captain is… "The days that have passed and the months that are coming, have been and are going to be among the toughest in my career as a player. However, during this adventure, I'm very lucky to have people that have stood by me are going to continue being here, even people I don't personally know who felt the need to send me a supporting message. I would like to thank all those who have given a thought of support, who have given me strength to get through this and a motive to come back the soonest I'm able to.
Finally, I would like to say something for the team that I'm proud and honored to be the captain, but also about its people: The decision of the administration and personally Bane's (i.e Prelevic, team President), to renew my contract, is a token of respect and appreciation for me and this is the least I can say.

I'm not going to re-evaluate my relationship with PAOK in terms of the team's initiative, because the foundations for this collaboration had been set long before this unfortunate incident".   

 

Kostas Charalampidis, despite not being able to come to the gym, can practically daily watch the team's practices (in real time, as shown in the photo), and if everything goes well, it is possible that next Wednesday he will be watching the PAOK - Ventspils game for the 9th day of the Eurocup Regular Season at the PAOK Sports Arena.  Kostas Charalampidis will be remaining at home until next Wednesday, when he's scheduled to visit the Interbalkan Medical Centre of Thessaloniki to remove the stitches from his operated leg.
