Ricky Paulding’s stop and pop three three gave EWE the lead for good, as Darryl Bryant’s heroics from behind the arc couldn’t quite get PAOK over the line. Bryant had back to back threes as PAOK tried to hold off the resurgent home team, but his one-man effort couldn’t get the better of a tough Oldenburg defense.

Chris Kramer’s huge block sent Bryant’s layup into the stands down the stretch and his perfect pick and roll feed to QVale pushed the lead to three with 26 seconds remaining after Paulding’s long-range bomb had stunned the visitors.

This was a physical battle, a game where every possession mattered and every basket had to be fought for. The teams went toe to toe throughout the final period, a one-possession game throughout. Maxime De Zeeuw’s big dunk gave Oldenburg a 52-51 lead early in the fourth and from there until QVale’s free throws with 5 seconds left gave the home team breathing space.

Oldenburg’s defense won this game, as they pressured PAOK into committing key turnovers. That and some calm execution by Paulding, Kramer and QVale earned them a deserved victory.
